About

Vasken Bedirian

Vasken Bedirian’s artworks capture the fusion of combustion, acceleration, and the relentless drive for motion. Immigrating from Beirut to Los Angeles in 1969, Vasken’s artistic journey began painting on scrap wood and tiles while working at his father’s gas station. As a teenager, cruising Hollywood in his 1970 Trans Am along Sunset Blvd.’s palm-lined streets and neon-lit scenes laid the foundation for his artistic vision, later honed at Art Center College in Pasadena.

In the 1980s and ’90s, Vasken competed in vintage and classic car races across the U.S., drawing inspiration from British, Italian, French, and American automobiles, including the 1961 Jaguar XKE, Lotus Sevens, Ferraris, and Alfa Romeos

After retiring from real estate, Vasken settled in Pebble Beach, the heart of the historic automobile scene. A member of prestigious car clubs like Ferrari Owners Club and Jaguar Club of America, he continues to attend and organize classic car events, finding endless inspiration in winding coastal roads and scenic landscapes.

Vasken’s art is fueled by first-hand racing experience, restoring classic cars, and capturing the emotive power of automobiles. His work embodies chaotic energy and hypnotic motion, with pieces displayed at Gallery Milmar Sparckie in Carmel-by-the-Sea, the Armenian Museum of Fresno, and private collections nationwide.
